by Karl-Hans Klein and Otto Heunecke

Key words: DIN 18710 " Engineering Surveys", Geometric Quality, Requirements to Engineering Surveys, Standardisation.

Abstract

There is a new German Standard DIN 18710 "Engineering Surveys" defining requirements to surveys at buildings and other constructions. It can be expected that this standard will develop to an important technical basis for letting, execution and evaluation of Engineering Surveys in Construction Engineering. A review on the contents and main topics of the new standard with a focus on desirable impacts on practical aspects in Engineering Surveys is given.
