She’s measuring more than land; she’s shaping the future

A social media campaign promoting Women in Surveying has been started

The African Women Land professionals from across the continent, with support from the Africa Regional Network and our partner NELGA, discussed last November in Tanzania "Women Land Professionals and the Struggle for Inclusive Land Governance in Africa: Reflections on the Past, Present, and the Future.“

Based on the takeaways from Tanzania's meeting, our colleagues from the Women's Land Rights and Women In Surveying working group (FIG Commission 7 WG on Women's Land Rights) Marisa Balas (Mozambique), Izuegbu Ogochuku Uju (Nigeria), Amina Samuel Dienye (Nigeria), and Kholoud Saad (Egypt) prepared an awareness campaign.

Calling for action to promote female land professionals and support them in their struggle for inclusive land governance.

We need more women in Surveying!

Women in surveying and the wider built environment sector face recurring challenges throughout their careers due to:

  • discrimination
  • bias (whether unconscious or intentional) and
  • inequity in opportunities and systemic practices.

Let’s change that
