Acknowledging and building on the past, President of the Association
of Danish Surveyors, Torben Juulsager, had invited FIG President
		Dr.
Diane Dumashie, Danish FIG Honorary President Stig Enemark
as well as FIG Office to the
150th anniversary celebrations in Copenhagen. Adding
significantly to this milestone and with an eye on the future, the
		Danish FIG Young Surveyors Network
was also founded. Danish young professionals Fie Kliving, Magnus Dissing, and
		Simon Reimers had an
inspiring meeting with both the FIG President and the Honorary FIG
President, whose presence underscored the deep historical ties between
the Association of Danish Surveyors and FIG. Diane Dumashie had encouraging words for the young people:
		- It was a pleasure to meet the passionate young surveyors who are
committed to driving this initiative forward in Denmark. Their energy,
vision, and commitment to shaping the profession are truly commendable.
I look forward to seeing this network flourish across Denmark, expand
into the wider Nordic and European region, and engage meaningfully with
the FIG Global Young Surveyors community. Looking ahead, I hope to see
many young people at the FIG Congress in Cape Town in May 2026.

The meeting was followed by a large 150th anniversary
celebration event for Danish surveyors and guests, also attended by
Henni Kanstrup from the FIG office. The day included enlightening
speeches from former Presidents and board members of the Association of
		Danish Surveyors, the Council of
European Geodetic Surveyors (CLGE), as well as the FIG President, who
praised the Danish surveying community especially for their
long-standing contributions to the global profession, hoping that this
		will continue in the future.

The anniversary event served as a powerful reminder of how national
associations like the Association of Danish Surveyors contribute to international progress — through
knowledge exchange, professional development, and a shared commitment to
sustainable solutions in a changing world.
